This year, the 7th annual such event was at Konko Church in Japantown.
Having grown up with the buckled shoes/ pilgrim hats/ pumpkin pie Thanksgiving, it’s nice to couch the holiday in somewhat broader and more inclusively thankful terms.

I was walking up the block, having done the goodbye hug  etc, but the finality of hearing the loading ramp clang shut and the  engine motors start was too much. I mean, I was in serious mourning.
